OUR ADVENTURE CONTINUES 012 - THE APOLOGY

PREVIOUS | NEXT | FIRST

This strip was originally published on February 28, 2013 over at www.ouradventurecontinues.com

I know it probably seems like we were just making these strips up as we went a long, and in much this here at the beginning of Our Adventure Continues, you'd be right.

And frankly, as I was the writer, most of that falls on me.

But here's the thing, if I wrote something that made me laugh, and if it made Harold laugh, we'd make a strip out of it because really, making each other laugh was all that mattered.

OUR ADVENTURE CONTINUES 010 - WHEN PICTURES AND WORDS FIGHT

PREVIOUS | NEXT | FIRST

This strip was originally published on February 21, 2013 over at www.ouradventurecontinues.com

Boy, I'll tell you what, if I had a nickel for every time Harold's has pulled a knife on me, well, then I'd be quicker than a bird in the hand that's worth more than two of a kind makes haste.

Sorry, I seem to have lost what I was going to say there ... I'm not really sure what happened but how about we just pretend that it never happened, regardless of the written proof of the entirely odd occurrence just there above this paragraph.

So, how you like us so far?

JUST ANOTHER FANBOY 235 - JOHN BYRNE'S SUPERMAN: PART THREE

It's a bird, it's a plane, it's a man with a beard talking about a comic written and drawn by a man with a beard.

That's right, I'm back once more with John Byrne's Superman run with Man of Steel #3 by John Byrne, Dick Giordano, John Costanza, and Tom Ziuko.

"Superman heads to Gotham City and finds himself at odds with the brutal--and oftentimes unlawful--methods Batman uses to fight crime when the Dark Knight tricks Superman into helping him by putting an innocent life on the line!"

Man of Steel #3 was published by DC Comics and has a cover date of November, 1986.

OUR ADVENTURE CONTINUES 008 - HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY!

PREVIOUS | NEXT | FIRST

This strip was originally published on February 14, 2013 over at www.ouradventurecontinues.com

I'd love to take the credit for today's holiday-themed strip, but if I remember correctly, all I came up with was the bottom panel. That top panel was all Harold.

See, when we were doing Variety Smack, we did a Thanksgiving strip which them inspired us to do similar strips for other holidays, and if my memory serves me, which it rarely does, I think I just said to Harold:

"Come up with something crazy in that top panel and the bottom panel will be Warren telling his kids: AND THAT'S WHY WE CELEBRATE VALENTINE'S DAY."

And so yeah, that top panel springs out of the mind of artist, Harold C. Jennett III.

OUR ADVENTURE CONTINUES 007 - LONG DISTANCE LOVE

PREVIOUS | NEXT | FIRST

This strip was originally published on February 12, 2013 over at www.ouradventurecontinues.com

Valentine's Day is coming up and so we thought we'd take a break from the main storyline of two guys trying to create something together, to bring you a strip about true love and the complications of romance in the workplace.

Meet Roland and Mindy, two star crossed lovers torn apart by the tragic concept of working at separate registers, just a few feet apart. These are brand new characters for Our Adventure Continues, and nfortunately you won't be seeing them again for a great long while, if ever, but that's just the way things go.

Roland, if you'll remember, was featured in a couple of Christmas strips in our Variety Smack run.

OUR ADVENTURE CONTINUES 006 - WHEN PICTURES THREATEN WORDS

PREVIOUS | NEXT | FIRST

This strip was originally published on February 7, 2013 over at www.ouradventurecontinues.com

Finally, an honest depiction of the creative process at work.

I'm glad to be able to have this opportunity to speak on the rigorous strain of working under Harold's yoke. Sure, Harold will try and tell you that this creative partnership of ours is truly a 50/50 type of thing. But the truth is that Harold has all of the control. He makes all the decisions. I'm just around because of my pretty face.

Well I'm tired of it!

No longer will I put up with being bullied and pushed around. No longer will I allow my feelings to be dragged through the mud and my creative juices to be soaked up by the sponge of - wait ... I thought I heard something ... hold on.

Yep, Harold's just walked in. Gotta go. See you next time!

PS: Don't tell Harold about this, okay. I don't want to eat his pencil shavings again.

OUR ADVENTURE CONTINUES 005 - A BOLD AND DARING IDEA

PREVIOUS | NEXT | FIRST

This strip was originally published on February 5, 2013 over at www.ouradventurecontinues.com

In October of 2011, Harold and I began the start of the original Variety Smack Comic. We just jumped right in without any preparation or plan. 15 strips later we learned that jumping in without a plan or preparation is the wrong way to do a web comic. So we stopped, regrouped, and spent a year preparing for Our Adventure Continues.

We ended up using some of the themes from the original Variety Smack strips, and the Rabid Ninja Zombie Wildebeasts are one such theme. As a matter of fact, we made mention of the Rebid Ninja Zombie Wildebeasts right away with strip one back then. It just took us a little longer this time around to get to them.

And yes, we are aware that we, and by we I mean I, spelled the word 'wildebeests' incorrectly. We actually addressed the "mistake" in strip 14 of Variety Smack, and will address is once again in an upcoming strip of Our Adventure Continues.
